Christopher P. Mittleman, Chief Investment Officer / Managing Partner
Chris serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries and directs investment policy, research and portfolio management for the Firm. He has provided investment strategy and portfolio management for more than twenty years to clients including high net worth individuals, corporate pension plans, foundations, endowments, and other institutional investors. Chris managed private client portfolios for Spencer Clarke, LLC as Senior Vice President of Investments from 2002 until 2005, when he co-founded Mittleman Investment Management, LLC with his brother, Phil. Prior to that, Chris was an Investment Executive at UBS (PaineWebber) for twelve years. He began his career in 1990 at Shearson Lehman Hutton, after attending Phillips Exeter Academy, and The Pennsylvania State University.
Philip C. Mittleman, Chief Executive Officer & President / Managing Partner
Phil serves as the Chief Executive Officer and President for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. Previously, he was Managing Partner of Blue Hill Ventures LLC and Voltron Ventures LP, which were venture capital funds with investments in a variety of industries. From 1991 to 1999, Phil served as Executive Vice President of the Kushner-Locke Company, a Nasdaq-listed entertainment company. He began his career at Kushner-Locke after attending Kent School, and Trinity College. Phil currently serves on the Board of Directors of Providence House, a non-profit charitable organization.
David J. Mittleman, Chief Client Relationship Officer / Managing Partner
Dave serves as Chief Client Relationship Officer for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. From 2005 through 2006, he was Co-Founder and President of Coastal Capital Group, LLC in Danvers, Massachusetts. From 1998 through 2005, he served as Vice President of Investments at Morgan Stanley, and from 1996 through 1998 held various roles at A.G. Edwards. He began his career in May 1995 at Dean Witter Reynolds after attending Kent School and St. Lawrence University.
Evan R. Newman, Director of Business Development / Partner
Evan serves as Director of Business Development for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining the firm in November 2010, he was Senior Vice President of Client Service at HS Management Partners, LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser that he helped launch in the Fall of 2007 with a number of his former colleagues from W.P. Stewart & Co., Ltd. He was previously Vice President of Client Service at Times Square Capital Management, LLC, following five years with W.P. Stewart & Co., where he was Vice President of Client Service & Marketing. Evan began his career at J.P. Morgan Investment Management in 1999, after attending The Peddie School and the University of Miami.
Stephen G. Bondi, Chief Compliance Officer & Chief Financial Officer
Steve serves as Chief Compliance Officer & Chief Financial Officer for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining the Firm in July 2016, he was the Chief Operating Officer of van Biema Value Partners, LLC for six years, where he oversaw all non-investment aspects of their business. Before joining van Biema, he served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer & Chief Compliance Officer for Asset Alliance Corporation. Prior to his nearly ten years at Asset Alliance, Steve was Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration at GAMCO Investors, Inc. During his approximately eighteen years at GAMCO, Steve served in various executive and board positions and was significantly involved with the firm’s accounting, finance, tax, compliance, and operations. He began his career as an Accountant at Spicer & Oppenheim, where he performed audits of investment firms. Steve received a BBA from Hofstra University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Steve is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the NY State Society of CPAs and also serves on the Board of Directors of The Safe Center LI, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization.
Jessica Clingo, Director of Administration & Operations
Jessica serves as Director of Administration & Operations for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. She joined the firm in January 2011 as a Client Service Associate, and has been intricately involved in all aspects of operations, administration and compliance since that time. She was promoted to Vice President of Operations in May 2014, and to Director of Administration and Operations in June 2016. She received her certification from the Investment Adviser Core Compliance Program, sponsored by National Regulatory Services, in May 2016. Jessica attended SUNY Farmingdale State College.
Sanmeet V. Deo, CFA, Vice President, Research & Trading
Sanmeet serves as Vice President, Research & Trading for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining the Firm in August 2012, he served as Vice President of Investments at HS Management Partners, LLC, where for four years he conducted fundamental research and assisted with the trading of equities as part of that firm’s concentrated equity strategy. Sanmeet began his career in 2001 as an Analyst at Lehman Brothers Inc. Over his six year tenure at Lehman, he administered financial analysis within the Investment Management Division, Neuberger Berman Fund Advisory Services and the Principal Finance Group. Sanmeet is a CFA charter-holder, a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and attended the University of Texas.
Varun Jayanth, Vice President, Trading & Risk Management
Varun serves as Vice President, Trading & Risk Management for Mittleman Brothers, LLC and its subsidiaries. He joined the firm in August 2014. Previously, he was most recently the Director of Operations at Ada Investments, a long-short equity hedge fund, where he facilitated the launch of that firm’s emerging market platform. Prior to that role, he served as Ada’s Head Trader, responsible for executing trades in global equities. Varun began his career at JPMorgan, where he performed portfolio analysis for various institutional funds. In 2006, Varun co-founded and launched an overseas business process outsourcing unit that catered to European and local clients in Asia. Varun attended the University of Texas at Dallas.
